The 13th and final episode in the 2022 Vintage Collection Season 1! This piece has a timeless rich luxurious presence. I used art nouveau influences in its design, and tried to incorporate colours that would work with any space.

This first season has been a joyful journey for me, giving me the freedom to work with an intensity of textures and colours that may not be market viable in larger artworks. I do hope you enjoy these artworks as much as I have enjoyed crafting them. Season 2 is well on its way to delivery I am glad to say.

This is an original abstract artwork, in acrylic by Jan O'Sullivan. It is the 13th and final painting in the 2022 Vintage Collection, the aim of which is to transport the viewer from the everyday modern world to a bygone time when intense colour and indulgent texture were the essence of luxury, modernity and wealth.The colours in this artwork have taken inspiration from those I've observed in posters and postcards from the 1920's. - 40's. The shapes and patterns have been inspired by lacy and silky materials, and by the art deco style.

In practical terms, I've chosen to keep these artworks small for two reasons. Firstly for myself, I have an awful lot of artworks and so storage is always an issue - smaller artworks take up less room. And secondly, for framing purposes. I see these artworks going to homes where the owner will enjoy the process of choosing just the right frame for the artwork - bright, gilded, fussy or modern - I think the intensity of these artworks will be further enhanced by a frame. Framing is costly, but a smaller artwork requires less frame.. so hopefully the cost will be proportional to your enjoyment of this piece.
